Bonnie Denby – Surgery Assistant

Bonnie has been with Fain & Smathers Veterinary Hospital since September 1997. She says that seeing the outcome of one’s hard work with an emergency, such as a hit-by-car that needs a leg pinning due to a fracture, is one of the things she enjoys most about her job.  “Just to see that patient be able to walk at a later date and knowing one had helped that particular pet is comforting and gratifying. It is very rewarding seeing an animal that starts out with a debilitation and then progress to a happy, healthy one. Seeing the owner being relieved that their pet is well is wonderful, too!” In her free time, Bonnie likes going to the beach with her husband, Billy, collecting anything that has to do with flip-flops, and shopping at Canton. Bonnie has two Border Collies named “Cookie” and “Candie”. “Candie” was picked up on the side of the road by a client several years ago. She had a large cut across her chest and had to have two surgeries. Along with cows and several barn cats, Bonnie also has a cat named “Tigger” that she got from a client 10 years ago.
